Just how I like it.

5.3L EcoTec3 V8 - $1,095
4.2 inch display with IntelliLink - $400

I love these new trucks. LOVE THEM. They look deeply impressive in person.

I really think GM hit this generation out of the park.

I was a little iffy about them at first, but now that I've seen them on the road, I'm inclined to agree.

The new F150s just look odd. I really dislike their front ends. This generation of GM trucks, esp in HD form, look MEAN.

In terms of looks, I like this better than the top spec ones.

You know, that's exactly what I was thinking.
Needs some raised white letters on the tires though.

I don't know why, but these tiny-goofy screens always make me cringe. Ford and GM both do them and they always seem way too out of place, with that void of plastic surrounding them.

It's to shun you for not upgrading to the 8.4 inch screen. Which isn't available in the base models.
I personally miss this radio because it took up the same amount of space as the radio with the touch-screen.

I was just looking at these as a new company truck. They are easily taking $8k off msrp already.

Seriously!?

Trucks always seem to be a bit cheaper in Canada and I can't understand why. I just built the exact same truck as you with the exact same options and it worked out to $31,855 CAD. We always have great incentives on trucks 5K-10K under MSRP. like right now this truck has a $4400 rebate plus employee pricing.
BTW $31,855 CAD = $29661 USD

Yeah, the older radios just made much more sense in terms of space usage, ease-of-use, and appearance.
Those tiny-iphone sized screens just scream "oh....so couldn't afford the larger screen, huh?".
The one in my girlfriends Focus just glares at me everyday..

Yeah, I was looking at pretty much this same truck. They were OFFERING it at $27k. I hadn't even begun negotiating yet...
Oh, I was looking at they Chevy tho... I'm not into GMC's

Not really that surprising. Folks who buy in bulk get deep discounts, and it's well known how fat the margins are for trucks like these. "Hey local truck sales person, I'll buy all your inventory for the next few months if you can give me a 30% discount for it." Will probably result in a 'sure' from most dealers because who else is gonna do that?

What the hell? That's strange. Aren't cars usually a little more expensive up there?

True. Very true.

Sierra, Silverado. Same thing.

usually quite a bit more expensive ~4-10K more. but trucks are always cheap here. that's why when I see you do these post I always think to myself "what a rip off". I guess I have just grown accustom to the fact that there is always major rebates on the trucks. If you can handle the shitty fuel economy there is nothing else that offers you as much value for money as a truck. But with gas alway hovering around $4.50/gallon I tend to stay away from trucks.
![]() 07/20/2014 at 19:12 |

Ouch. The price of gas makes up for the price difference, methinks.

I agree, but this is my companies first fleet purchase, so no big contract here... yet! The ford dealer across the street had a huge lot of tricked out trucks for some mining company tho... at least 40 trucks.
![]() 07/20/2014 at 19:21 |

Me: Ok boss, I can see why you'd think buying one LaFerrari Instead of the 40 new mining trucks we desperately need is a bad idea, and would be considered embezzlement...but just hear me ou-
Boss: Your fired.

To show even bigger discounts the Ford F150 Limited with the fantastic Blue leather interior currently has $14,911 in rebates. and is still offered with a low interest loan.
Price is shown as out the door tax included. MSRP is 65,899 + freight & taxes.

*goes to Canada to buy truck, then brings truck back to America*
Hell, if I lived in a border state, I'd so do this.

If I was going bare bones, I would go with the 4.3. It puts out nearly the same amount of power as the last 5.3, and better gas mileage.

Invoice - holdback(what manf. pays them to sell it) - rebates/discounts. Don't ever spend a dime more than that because there are dealers that will make that deal all day long to tick the unit count.
Go online and get quotes from 2 or 3 places and try to get a copy of the invoice from one of them if you can.
Holdback on a bottom level truck like this is about 1200-1500 and its probably marked up another 1800-2500 from invoice. So whatever the rebates are expect to be able to get another 3-4k off.
